Rick is a gifted senior executive with
over 30 years experience in strategic planning, marketing,
business plan development, sales management, commission
plan design, and leadership development. Rick’s focus
and strength has been in the areas of organizational design
and leadership.
Rick has been recognized for his talents
and his professional career has included a variety of senior
executive positions with both The Royal Bank of Canada and
American Express, Canada and the U.S. At The Royal Bank
he was instrumental in changing the way Canadians bank as
he developed, launched and managed the bank’s entry
into ATMs. As a Senior Executive for American Express, Rick
was responsible for the restructuring, business growth and
functional management of their North American Merchant Relationship
division. The division encompassed over 2.5 million merchant
relationships, US$230 billion in billed business and a staff
of over 500. He grew the business by an average of 12% a
year over 5 years. He was also a Director of and played
and instrumental role in the creation of the Amex Bank of
Canada.
Rick is a gifted public speaker and is
frequently invited as a keynote speaker at prestigious venues.
He has addressed numerous conferences and corporate gatherings
on subjects ranging from “Planning in Uncertain Times”
to “Leadership – Where to find it” and
“Change – Real or Artificial”.
Since starting his career as a consultant,
Rick has advised both start-up and small to mid size businesses
in the areas of Customer Relationship Management, Sales
Plan Development and Organizational Design. Additionally,
he has also provided advice and strategic direction to companies
in the Insurance, Product Display and Health Care sectors
in the U.S. and Canada.
